The application for the Excelsior Scholarship Program is now complete. Eligible candidates can apply online at the official site or through the Excelsior Scholarship Application. To better describe this program, each eligible candidate must meet some minimum criteria that have been determined by the Excelsior School District.
Eligibility. An eligible candidate must: be a permanent resident of NYS and have lived in NYS for at least twelve continuous months previous to the application date; be a U.S. national or a qualified non-national, whether current or not; have either graduated high school in the United States or have passed a federally approved ability to benefit test; and have an income that meets the guidelines established by the United States Department of Education. (Note: This income requirement does not apply to students who are in some type of financial need, such as those with disabilities. How it works. Eligibility for this scholarship program is based upon your desire to participate in a four-year higher education program. Eligibility for the program also includes completion of a high school diploma or its equivalent. For individuals who have not completed high school, completion of a GED is required. Once you meet these requirements, you will be sent a request for an application and a copy of your high school transcript.
